Loosen the locking nut to move the dial to specified pump setting.

All CDS-John Blue Next Generation Piston Pumps (NGP) have been engineered and extensively field tested to achieve the perfect liquid metering pump. John Blue Piston Pumps have a reputation and history built on superior performance, servicability and quality.

All CDS-John Blue Piston Pumps, regardless of age, can be hydraulically driven with our Variable Rate Hydraulic Kits or with our Ground Driven Universal Drive Assemblies.

To calculate the flow rates for your CDS-John Blue Metering Pumps, visit the BLU-JET website’s Flow Calculator. The Calculator now features calculations in both standard and metric units. After entering the form fields, click “Calculate my Pump Settings” and scroll down to the green section titled “Pump Setting & Application Parameters (Estimated)” to view your pump settings.

There is also a mobile flow rate calculator for your phone or tablet. To access the site on your smart phone, go to this mobile site, or bookmark the site in your mobile web browser. Instructions are included.

After finding the calculations, loosen the locking nut on pump, using the provided wrench. Then rotate the dial to specified pump setting, according to the numbers that your calculator gives you and tighten locking nut back up.

Once the correct pump setting has been obtained from the pump calibration calculator, it becomes necessary to select a nozzle size that will result in a system operating pressure that falls within the recommended range of 60 PSI to 120 PSI. It is important to remember that GPA rate will not be affected by changing nozzle sizes. A gauge is provided to double check calculations and monitor pressure during operation.

The orifice will also determine what kind of pressure you have. It is recommended that a mid-range pressure of 80-100 PSI is used to allow for speed variances in field operation, if possible.
