Inter-Row SubTilling is used to eliminate compaction layers at the last possible opportunity to ensure the soil is as loose as possible for the roots of the growing crop.

Spring operations like leveling and planting can leave a compaction layer in the field that should be taken out. If ponding is observed in the fields during spring rains, Inter-Row SubTilling can be used to spot treat those areas after the ground has dried out. Ponding in a field is a good indicator that compaction layer(s) exist in that area of the field.

Accomplished by using SubTiller summer points with the BLU-JET SubTiller II, Inter-Row SubTilling is perfect for soils that are highly susceptible to compaction in the spring.

Depth and speed are crucial to the operation in order to accomplish the procedure while not harming growing plants. Running at a slower speed and as deep as possible while still allowing the implement to clear the crop ensures that the roots for the growing plants are not damaged and have the optimal growing room.
