Simonsen Iron Works is adding a new machine to its arsenal. A Mazak OptiPlex 4020 sheet laser is currently being installed.

Currently, the electrical work and pre-install set-up is being done. A rigging company will arrive in mid-February to remove the machine from its crates and place the machine in its designated area.

The total machine and components installed weighs over 60,000 pounds. It is an 80” x 160” sheet laser that can cut up to 1” thick material. The new laser brings the Simonsen Iron Works laser arsenal up to three, increasing capacity, and expanding our cutting capabilities in size and thickness of material.

Simonsen Iron Works is pre-selling laser time for the new laser and quoting for quite a few new customers. To keep up with the demand, most of the plant has been working overtime every week.

Also, Simonsen Iron Works has begun building Blu-Jet row units. 1100 SCS row units and 1100 Max Pacs are being put together at the facility.
